Casey was 30 years old and in that time, blazed the hotspots of NYC, Los Angeles, plus a few trips to the plastic surgeon. As a card carrying member of the Paris Hilton set, she was not immune to the allure of self improvement via knife. She got breast implants and lip injections. It is interesting to see how large her lips grew over the years.

Casey’s fiance, Tila Tequila, is also no stranger to plastic surgery and bought much larger breast implants a few years ago.

So just how did Carmen Campuzano’s nose end up in its currently deformed state? There are several stories out there swirling around, but a severe cocaine addiction, an overly aggressive plastic surgeon and a battle with a flesh eating bacteria (that Carmen picked up from stepping in pig poop!) could all be contributing factors in the disfigurement of her nose.

Carmen Campuzano is or was a model in Mexico and currently works as an event organizer and hostess. Carmen demonstrates the number one lesson that should be taught about cosmetic surgery and that many people ignore – never go too far, too fast. If you make some subtle changes, a little botox, a little lift here or there, you just might get away with it and improve on what you’ve got.

As you can see above Carmen did have a big nose in 1999 but her surgery was a big mistake. She chopped off about half her nose.

The doc succeeded in making a button on the tip of the nose, that part went ok. What went wrong was the nasal phalanges on the sides of her nose. Too much flesh was removed, and without enough support, the nostrils collapsed. Subsequently, doctors performed various surgeries to try and give it some structure and repair the nose but so far no luck. Not only that, but Carmen has had trouble with infections, fluid and blood flow in her sinuses which can potentially be very dangerous and has required further surgeries. And you know what happened to Michael Jackson’s nose, he eventually had to use a prosthetic, or else plastic fillers instead of actual flesh.

56-year old former HP executive Carly Fiorina announced that she was battling breast cancer shortly before deciding to run against the California incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer. Carly Fiornia was fired after HP stock fell and she laid off thousands of workers. Although new to the political scene after spending her career at major companies, Carly has been endorsed by Republican politicians, including Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona (See Make Me Heal’s story on John McCain’s plastic surgery), former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

To treat her breast cancer, Carly decided to undergo a double mastectomy, and later had breast reconstructive surgery. After the double mastectomy, Carly was also treated with chemotherapy, which caused her to lose her hair. Last month, Carly was hospitalized due to complications from an infection resulting from the reconstructive surgery.

On his blog, OcBody plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia says, “According to the article, Ms Fiorina had breast cancer with radiation and chemotherapy involved in her treatment along with her breast reconstruction. This does not bode well for implant-based reconstruction that she probably had.”

Radiation treatment and implant placement together have a high incidence of complications including infection and implant exposure. Being that in 2009, Ms Fiorina was likely in the midst of planning her Senate run. She might have opted for a less debilitating implant-based reconstruction for practical reasons. Such a choice might have also been based on the availability of soft tissue with which two breasts could be made. Carly is thin of build. Tissue-based breast reconstruction also has its share of problems, but late in the game infection is not usually one of them.

California Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina has been released from the hospital after being treated for an infection related to reconstruction surgery.  She had previously been diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent bilateral mastectomies with reconstruction, with the last stage being performed back in July.  What type of infection could this be, many months after her last surgery?
Hopefully the infection does not involve a breast implant, which is often used in reconstruction.  If an implant is infected, it needs to be removed, typically for six months to allow the infection to resolve.  For those six months the patient would have only one augmented (or reconstructed) breast.  This is my greatest fear when operating on smokers, who have a five times higher risk of healing complications over nonsmokers.

Due to the little amount of difference in her appearance, it’s hard to tell whether the rumors are true, but a facelift can pretty much be ruled out because of how wrinkled her skin still looks.

A blepharoplasty is the surgery she most likely had, as her eyes look wider now than they used to, especially in her upper eyelid. She also sometimes shows traces of the infamous “Botox vein” in her forehead. Manheim is over fifty now, so any work she has had, or will have, will be less about pure cosmetics, and more about staving off age, It’s not like a “hotter” appearance is going to help a career, she just has to stay in that sweet spot where she can play distinguished women, and not drift into “old lady” territory.

While Camryn’s eyes do look a little more open now than before, she also has more signs of aging, including wrinkles and fine lines across her forehead and around her eyes. If Camryn had had a facelift, these signs of aging should have been eradicated.

Board certified Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr David Shafer says, “Carryn Manheim has reportedly been spending some time in the plastic surgeon’s office.  However, the reported blepharoplasty is minimal if anything, the rumored rhinoplasty does not seem convincing and the facelift – well, I am not convinced.”

On the first episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the audience is introduced to 38-year old Taylor Armstrong, who expresses concerns about her husband leaving her for a younger woman. Shortly after, the cameras show Taylor as she is treated with Radiesse injections in Dr. Nassif’s office.

“Immediately following the injections of anesthetic, Radiesse was injected into little balls, and carefully massaged into Taylor’s temple. Radiesse is an excellent filler for face volumizing, and her result was fantastic!”
